Born November 4, 1990 in Trelawny, she had a great junior career. The former Vere Technical standout would have represented Jamaica at the IAAF World Juniors, World Youth and Carifta games and the IAAF world championships in Daegu 2011

She left Jamaica and attended South Plains junior college. While in college she won four gold medals at the NJCAA championships.

In 2011 she competed at the IAAF world championships and advanced to the semi-finals. She was a member of the silver medal 4x100m relay team.

Jura has been training with the SprinTec Track Club for the past two years and have been rounding back into form. At the National Senior Trials she finished 3rd in a new personal best of 11.06 to book a place on the team to the IAAF world championships in London.
