The Business of Sport (Carole Beckford) brokered a deal with Hayden Knowles, Managing Director, Competitive Edge, Australia, to bring a group of track and field athletes to Jamaica for a camp. The athletes from Australia are sprinters – 100, 400 and 400 metres hurdles athletes. The contingent will also have Natalie Porter who heads NPIRE which was established in 2010. She is an Olympian Silver Medalist for basketball. Porter has offered to do camps while she is here.
Level V IAAF Coach and Olympian track and field head coach, Maurice Wilson will be the technical director for this mission and he will be assisted by the GC Foster team.
Andrew McCabe, one of the athletes who ran the 3rd leg on the world record 4 X 100 metres race in London is part of the ten athlete team.
